"Maplewood North" is on the land of the original Maplewood Farm, which was founded by our family in the mid 1950's. For many years the farm devoted its time to the raising of Angus beef breeding stock under the direction of Rex and Leona Draheim.
Today, the north section of the farm has been transformed into the home of a registered Shetland sheep flock, a registered Polypay flock, purebred Coopworth sheep and an assortment of commercial sheep. We currently have just over 100 sheep and are continuing to grow. Please visit our web pages for a look at our farm and to check out the breeding stock and fleece products that we have available for sale.
2008 SHETLAND FLOCK SIRES
Maplewood Onix
Maplewood Basil
Our flock sires for the 2008 lambing season are Maplewood Onix, a white three-year old ram and Maplewood Basil, a moorit two-year old ram. Basil was sired by a black and white yuglet/flecket, and, hopefully, carries those spots!
