POLYPAY FLEECE

For those of you not familiar with this breed, it is an American breed that was developed in the early 1970's from the crosses of Dorset/Finn/Rambouillet/Targhee.  The wool has a very fine crimp, staple length of around 2 to 4 inches and the resulting yarn is very soft and springy with a very nice off-white color.  I personally had not worked with Polypay until very recently and I was very pleased with the results.  Our son did his science fair project on fleece weights and yields and the Polypay yielded about 66% (clean weight compared to grease weight).  I personally would use it for "next to the skin" items.

We do not put coats on our sheep, so there will be some vegetable matter.
