"Down on the Farm"

September 2007 - Another very successful Wisconsin Sheep and Wool Festival!  This year we participated in the Hall of Breeds, a new feature to offer the public a look at some of the many breeds of sheep which we raise here in this country.  We exhibited Shetland, Polypay and Coopworth.  There were also Dorpers, Border Leicesters, Lincoln Longwools, Southdowns and others.  Stop by and see us next year - the weekend after Labor Day in Jefferson, Wisconsin!

SOME OF THE BOYS OUT ON PASTURE

Basil, Clove and Tarragon, yearling rams.  Basil and Tarragon are available for sale - see their sale information on the "For Sale - Rams" page.

Some of this year's lambs, pictures taken in July 2007.

Maplewood Aphrodite

Maplewood Zeus on the left and the flock matriarch, Windswept Cricket - her lamb from this year is the moorit ram behind her.

One of the later lambs born this year - our experiment in summer/June lambing.  Her sire is Maplewood Garlic, our gorgeous grey ram who, unfortunately died earlier this year, but after leaving us with three beautiful grey lambs.  Her dam is Maplewood Eevee, a black ewe who is available for sale.

Some of our "Big, white sheep" - a Polypay ewe with her ram lamb.

Maplewood Heinz (his ear tag is #57!) - one of our purebred Polypay flock sires.
