POLYPAY FLEECES
Read about Polypay fleece and see some of our sheep and fleece in the Winter 2010 edition of Spin-Off magazine.
The Polypay breed is a true American breed, having been developed in this country through the crossing of the Finn, Dorset, Targhee and Rambouillet breeds. While the wool can vary somewhat from animal to animal, due to the presence of these four breeds, most of our Polypay is of the fine-wool type. It is soft and has a very small crimp and produces a cream colored, bouncy yarn. It is a fairly greasy fleece, so tends to pick up a bit more dirt than, for example, the Shetland. And, while we don't jacket our sheep and there is some VM, we do skirt the fleeces heavily and remove the worst of it.
So take a look below and send us an email if you see something you would like to buy - or if you would just like to be added to our email list. We take personal checks or money orders and charge only actual shipping from our zip code to yours.
